Abstract: Often, we must infer unseen characteristics about a stimulus when our initial categorization is uncertain. Empirically, researchers have revealed limited use of alternative category information in these situations. We assessed the replicability of a large set of these inference problems and extended the literature by connecting them to eye-tracking metrics.

Doan, C.A., **Mays, A., & **Mills, D. (March 2024). Eye-tracking behavior associated with unsupervised learning of integral-color categories. Poster presented.
Abstract: What types of stimulus relations can we learn without supervision? Surprisingly, researchers have demonstrated unsupervised learning of only onedimensional relations. We report unsupervised learning results with integral stimuli (colors) that instantiate a three-dimensional stimulus relation. Using a Tobii Pro Fusion (250 Hz) eye-tracker, we link eye-tracking metrics (fixations, proportion dwell time) with behavioral measures of learning (accuracy, response times). Through our discussion, we connect the results to previous research and outline avenues for future exploration.
